Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
